Comfydown Cottage Address withheld Belfast 12/6/09 Dear McCain Chips,
When we first sampled your oven chips we were most impressed- they tasted great and we knew they were better for us than fried chips. Life was good. But we have recently been having problems with your oven chips- they still taste as great as ever but it now appears your chips have turned against us. To be frank, they want us out of our house.
You see, recently we have been putting them on a baking tray in the usual random manner but the chips seem to form into words whilst in the oven. These words have been most disturbing. They spell things like "leave", "get out" and "if you don’t leave now you will regret it so you will". Our estate agent and friend, Stephen PookeGrimble, can verify this as he was there every time it happened. He has advised us to take the threats seriously. He said "I would take those threats seriously so I would" and has kindly offered to sell our house for us. We are however reluctant to move and seek your advice because, after all, it’s your chips that are to blame.
Have you any experience of your chips threatening people before? Is this particular problem only associated with the 1kg bags or are there certain batch numbers that I should avoid? Have you any plans to recall the ‘evil chips’? I seek answers urgently!
