Dear Holiday Inn

I am hoping to stay at a couple of the hotels in your chain during the next month or so. However I have a problem I am quite sure you can help me with.

I suffer from an unusual digestive disorder that only allows me to eat pre-masticated food. What this means is I would need all the food I will be eating during my stay to be liquidised before serving. It’s not too difficult as all three courses including tea or coffee can be blended together and served at the one time.

Now for the problem: I cannot eat meat this way. It must be actually chewed before I can eat it. And being a crucial part of my diet, not eating meat, even for a day is unfortunately not an option. I therefore need to know if your hotel could provide someone at my table to do this for me, as the friend who normally does it is not available to travel with me this time.

I appreciate this may affect the cost of my stay with you, but can you please let me know if you can facilitate me during my stay. By the way my ‘chewer’ must be a non-smoker.

Yours sincerely

John J Marley
